Dubai is a city in the United Arab Emirates known for luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture, and a lively nightlife scene. Burj Khalifa, an 830m-tall tower, dominates the skyscraper-filled skyline. At its foot lies Dubai Fountain, with jets and lights choreographed to music. On man-made islands just offshore is Atlantis, the Palm, a resort with water and marine-animal parks.

Preparing: Of course from what I assumed I thought to pack all long dresses and lightweight shirts to cover my arms. I knew the country was hot, so I did pack dresses without sleeves but carried enough summer shirts and little jackets to cover my arms. However, when we arrived at our first hotel I noticed the different styles people were wearing. Dubai is a country that is compiled of 80% expats who have brought with them their style of fashions. In the streets was lined up with women who chose to wear miniskirts, high heels, jeans, shorts, skirts, and shirts that were their likings. In the Dubai Mall, you will find stores of familiarity from the Gap to Aeropostale, Guess, Bloomingdale, Juicy Couture, Donna Karan and Forever 21 oh and H&M, and that’s just naming a few. When I say the country is so versatile, you couldn’t believe it until you see it. Oh and I love swimming, so I had a few bathing suits in my suitcase as well.
So pack whatever you want!!!

Food: You will find familiar eateries on every corner which are mixed in with local cuisines. One night I grabbed a quick bite to eat at Pizza Hut and had dinner at Red Lobster.
Transportation:Taking a quick taxi down to the Souks from your hotel is convenient as getting an Uber or taxi as you would in your city. One day I had some free time I took a taxi to the Textile Souks to purchase my daughter some Islamic attire. I negotiated with the shop owners just as I would at the flea markets here in the states.
Sightseeing: We went to many different places; the Al Fahidi Fort which is the oldest fortress in Dubai, which probed many visitors from all over the world. We arrived there by way of mini motor coach with an English speaking guide teaching the country’s history. The fortress showcased many artifacts such as the country long history of Pearl diving which was the height of the economy as well as the making of handcraft rugs.
We then headed over to the Gold Souk that lined so many retailers selling unique and exquisite gold and silver pieces if interested in purchasing you were able to negotiate on a fair price.
Nightlife: We stayed in a hotel that had two-night clubs. On our last night, the supplier that hosted the trip gave us a fabulous farewell party at Escoba and the vibes from the partying was banging. I'm not a drinker, but I did order a Pina Colada and the taste was interesting or should I say, odd; so different from the ones I've had before.The Pina Colada was served hot...without ice or being chilled.
From stepping on the double decker plane in New York, I landed in Dubai. I saw the impressive skyline and landscapes of the city; traveled the roads of Safari Desert in an SUV and rode in between the humps of a camel. I took an enchanting cruise under the night's blanketed canvas on the Dhow River appreciating the sexy nightlife of Dubai; then going to the striking Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
Grasping the ambiance from visiting Dubai and Abu Dhabi; I am dying to undergo another journey to the UAE. Hopefully, my encounters will entice me to memorialize my voyage so you can picture my passion of traveling. Come; take that Bucket list trip to the United Arab Emirates.
